So I take it back, there will be one more last time. May 31st I will host one more Rockin’ the Cradle featuring Jenny Omnichord, and to complete the circle of life, the Leonids will play again, this time with the full band.
There will definitely be a brunch- I know this because I am in contact with the cook! I’m not sure if we we have an extra room or not. Stroller parking may have to be outside, but I’ll post more when I know more.
It looks like we will start at 12pm this time and go until three. To keep us rockin’ while we eat, special family guest Sean Mcgaughey will play.
You really really don’t want to miss this one. It will actually be the last one!
If you want a poster to hang up somewhere, or many, let me know. As you can see, there is one in colour and one in black and white.

This series has been very successful thanks to all of you. Unfortunately it has also been short and sweet, as April will be the last one. I just don’t have the time to organize it any more.
One of the reasons for this is an impending move to Kingston in the fall. The series may be reincarnated there sometime in the future.
Whether you are a regular or a newbie, please come out to the Tranzac and help us Rock out one last time on April 26th. See previous post.
If you or anyone you know would like to keep the series going by taking over the organizational duties, please let me know and I’ll pass on all my knowledge and wisdom;)
If you liked my “work” and would like to pay me to organize something for you, drop me a line:)

Hey everyone. Thanks for coming Rockin’ the Cradle #3. What a turn-out! When I arrived to set up, it was a dark and stormy day and the power was out, so it was looking a bit dismal. Fortunately Dirty Dishes have powerful voices and were all ready to play unplugged. Then, just before 1, Shelby Lamb walked in and all the lights came back on. Really! It was amazing. Brunch was wonderful and we had the largest crowd so far.
We finally got the sound the exact right volume so it wouldn’t hurt even the newest baby’s ears, but still sounded fantastic. Thanks to everyone who helped out (Maureen and family), Natasha, Kyle, Amira, Chrissy and Cassandra and the Tranzac gang etc.)
If you missed this show, don’t worry, there is a large chance both dirty Dishes and Shelby Lamb will play again soon.
Stay tuned for info on #4 in April (April 26th, 1-3pm).
The Gnomes will be playing as well as someone else, whom I have not yet confirmed.

I just heard that there will be brunch served for this Rockin’ the Cradle (March 29th). It is the same chef that they had for Rockin’ the Cradle #1-he’s great. I think I inhaled my crepes whole. So come ready to rock and ready to eat!

Rockin’ the Cradle #3 will be on March 29th from 1-3pm. The performers are Shelby Lamb and Dirty Dishes. As usual, it’s PWYC (remembering that Musicians need to eat too;) We try really hard to have the sound low enough for new babies, and it is an all ages event – ages 0-1000. There will be a change table and a musical craft to do. Here’s the poster. Let me know if you have any questions or comments, or if you would like some fliers/ posters to put up.

#2 was a success too! Thanks so much to our performers, Bry Webb and Positive Thinking Seminar (Purplater). Thanks to Maureen for manning the shaker table again. Thanks to the Tranzac for having us and cleaning up all the macaroni. Thank you to every one who came!
Sorry about the brunch mix-up. I’ll keep you updates about next month. Shelby Lamb and Dirty Dishes will be playing. I will post the poster tomorrow as well as photos and video from both Rockin’ the Cradle #1 and 2.

I added two new pages-photos and press. See above. Click on them to see images of our first show and to read the review in Now Magazine!
The next show will be February 22nd and will feature tow bands. Bry Webb isone guy with a guitar (a really awesome guy who can play and sing amazingly), so if you found the last show loud, this one should be better. Positive Thinking Seminar is a group of four well seasoned musicians who play in every style imaginable so I’m not sure exactly what to expect other than goodness! I’ve included a poster I have made below. If you have somewhere you can put one or more, let me know and I can either email it to you, or drop some off. Until I can figure out how to get in to my new special Rockin’ the Cradle e-mail, you can use nomoregarbage [at] live dot com.

Rockin’ the Cradle #1 was a success! Thank you all for coming and for telling all your friends. There was a lot of dancing and shaking going down! Woolly Leaves sends his deepest and sincerest Apologies that he didn’t make it. A big big Thanks to the Leonids for playing so wonderfully and for stretching the set to fill in the gap. Thank you to Maureen and Andrew for manning the craft booth. The shakers turned out great! Thank you to Mike for doing sound. Thank you to Cassandra and the Tranzac team for being so accommodating.
I forgot to tell everyone prior to the event that the Tranzac serves brunch at the time of the show, so next time, feel free to bring your empty bellies and fill them up. I had apple maple crepes and they were divine.
Please feel free to send me any feedback you have.
I will try to post photos within the next few days, as well as the poster and information for Rockin’ The Cradle #2!
Thanks again everyone! See you next month.

So due to popular demand, I quickly put together a website for Rockin’ the Cradle. The First gig is this Sunday, so get your dancing shoes on, or your head bobbing hat, or whatever. Here’s the scoop…
What: Rockin’ The Cradle- an afternoon rock show with lowered sound and child friendly features (change tables, lots of space, shakers and scarves).
Where: The Tranzac, 292 Brunswick Avenue
When: January 25th at 1-3pm (this Sunday!)
Who: Woolly Leaves and The Leonids
Pay What You Can ***The Tranzac has a Pay What You Can policy, which is awesome, but please remember the musicians need to make a living too so a donation of what you would usually pay for a concert would be greatly appreciated)***
This is truly an all ages event. Everyone aged 0-1000 is welcome.
And just in case you are not excited enough, I have confirmed the musicians for Rockin’ the Cradle #2, which will be Sunday February 22nd from 1-3pm at the Tranzac.
The musicians are……………
